Via Farata (A Safe Mountain Climb using ladders and steps) Day 4. Local walk during the day.   We will take an early evening walk with an experienced guide to spot the mountain wildlife.  You will then enjoy a mountainside BBQ before returning late at night only using the light from the stars to guide you. Day 5. Day for you to explore the local area and cuisine. Day 6. Day trip to Chamonix with a memorable cable car trip to the top of the Aiguille Du Midi. Day 7. We will take a chair lift to the high mountain meadows where we will take in the stunning alpine scenery during our walk back to the valley floor. more info @ www.truealpine.com High Mountain Adventure Holiday -  £1265.00 pp  (Based on 2 people sharing a twin/double room) An amazing experience and possibly a once in a lifetime trip for those who want the feeling of being a mountaineer but have never found the opportunity of realising their dreams.  This trip is accessible to anyone who is physically active and has a healthy head for heights with a passion for the mountains.  No specialist skills or climbing experience are required because you will be in the hands of a very experienced qualified mountain guide.  Safety equipment will be provided. Arrival day Day 2. Introduction to rock climbing. Day 3. Via Ferrata (A safe mountain climb using ladders and steps) Day 4. Summit a local peak at 2700m. Day 5. Rest Day Day 6&7 You will set off for 2 day expedition trip to climb the Grand Paradis in Italy.  At 4061m, this is the highest mountain in Italy.  The trip will involve staying in a mountain refuge with a very early morning start.  Two hours of steady hiking in the dark will take us to edge of the Paradis Glacier.  With the morning breaking, you will then start to negotiate crevasse, ice and snow to eventually make the summit during late morning.  We return to the refuge for a late lunch then descend to the valley for the trip back to the chalet in time for a welcome shower or bath before dinner to celebrate a most unforgettable trip of achievement and satisfaction.   Being in a high mountain environment, this trip is weather permitting.   If parts of the week’s activities are cancelled due to bad weather or situations out of our control, we are unable to refund or reschedule your holiday but we will do our best to change the itinerary. more info @ www.truealpine.com

St Nicolas la Chapelle is arguably even more beautiful in the Summer and Autumn then it is in the winter. It is surrounded by fields and grassy slopes full of stunning alpine flowers.  You can hear the bells of the cows and goats from far away. The biggest decision of your holiday would be from which perspective you would like to sample the breath taking scenery.  It could be from the downhill hill approach of the mountain-biker or the ever changing hidden depths of nature that are the rewards of a relaxing stroll?

The Chalet

Chalet Les Colombes is situated in the idyllic unspoilt mountain village of St-Nicolas La Chapelle and is very close to the beautiful 18^th Century church and local bar.  Traditional Savoyard restaurants are also located close by for you to try on the chalet staffs’ night off.  We fell in love with the village and the ski area and our aim is for you to do the same.  The chalet is located only 1hr 20 mines from Geneva Airport and 30 mines from Albertville.  A 1 hour drive will take you to the beautiful lakeside town of Annecy.  We are in the best position to discover many of the best known ski resorts in the French Alps, a short 2 minutes drive will take us to the skiing at Flumet..
